Beautiful

I'm really excited to be participating in the Big Sketch Contest at My Creative Sketches.  Here is my layout for sketch #1.

I'm pretty sure this is my favorite photo of Allison!  Dan took the photo while Allison was looking at me.  I've got a copy of it on my desk and I often catch myself staring at it.

About half of the patterned paper, as well as the alphabet stickers and roll-up flowers that I used here, are from the new Playtime collection by My Little Shoebox. The blue scalloped quarter circle is actually the scalloped edge from one of the Playtime papers, cut out and layered onto a dictionary page-looking paper from an older collection by October Afternoon.  A couple of the other papers that I used here are also from that OA collection (leftovers from an MCS kit!).  I really wanted to use those blue scallops to bring out her beautiful blue eyes.

Oh how I LOVE the My Little Shoebox roll-up flowers!!!  I included 9 of them here in red and blue among a handful of off-white Primas in various styles. I also love me some bling, so I used two different Zva crystal and pearl flourishes (although the one near the bottom of the layout ended up getting mostly covered by the flowers and leaves!).

This was a raw chipboard shape that I first painted with wicker white acrylic paint and then covered with a coat of rock candy crackle paint.  Love that effect!  That little bit of bling there is part of one of the Zva flourishes that I had cut apart.

This is the sketch.  I ended up flipping it to accommodate the orientation of my photo but I otherwise kept things pretty true to the sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Water

Allison lovvvvvvvvvves being in water whether it's in the bathtub or a swimming pool or even in the lake that she got to swim in this summer.  In the tub, she lays down on her back and kicks as hard as she can, splashing water everywhere including all over the person who is bathing her lol.
I used the beautiful Enchanted Garden collection by My Little Shoebox along with some ribbon and trim from my stash.  I cannot get enough of those roll-up flowers (yes, you have and will continue to hear me say that about those delightful flowers lol)!

Thinking of You

Hi blog friends!  Here's a card I recently created with the My Little Shoebox Enchanted Garden collection.  The soft colors and patterns in this line definitely make this one of my favorites of the new releases.

I absolutely love the brilliant punch-out roll-up flowers that MLS has included with the new collections.  They really make adding beauty and dimension a breeze.

My Little Shoebox and Punky Sprouts

My Little Shoebox teamed up with Punky Sprouts this month!

I'll be the first to admit that I tend to avoid using mini-albums.  I think it might have something to do with my perfectionistic need for my albums to all be the same size, shape, style, etc.  But, I really wanted to have a try at the super cool Punky Sprouts products that I received, and boy am I glad I did!

I got to work with the Punky Sprouts "Trunk Punky" album, some of their trim, and some of their roll-up flowers.  Instead of creating a true mini-album, though, I went a different direction and used those products along with the gorgeous MLS Enchanted Garden collection to make myself a much-needed notebook!

Oh how I LOVE those roll-up flowers!!

I'm always searching for paper to jot down phone numbers, reminders about work, DT assignments, and so on.  Well now I have a 75-page custom notebook in my favorite color combination sitting on my desk :)  Because I wanted my notebook to be pretty and practical, instead of just pretty, I kept the inside simple and designated the dimensional elements to the front cover.  I used my binding machine to assemble the finished notebook.

I hope I've encouraged you to think outside the box... mini-albums are not just for photos!  Thank you, Punky Sprouts, for the opportunity to work with your fun products :)

Note Card Set

Hi everyone!  Today I have a pretty little note card gift set to show you.  The set consists of a holder, six 4.25 x 5.5 cards, and six envelopes.

I used one of my favorite Momenta collections, Butterfly Garden, to construct this set.  The colors and patterns are so feminine and pretty.

The note card holder is opened by simply sliding off the ribbon closure.

This set will soon be mailed off to a loved one whose name obviously begins with "L" hehe.  I hope this pretty little gift will brighten her day and come in handy when she has occasion to send a note.

If you're interested in the product list, you can find it on the Momenta blog, here.

Thanks for stopping by!
