Eyelet Outlet Cards

Hi friends!  I have a couple of cards to show today that I created for the Eyelet Outlet blog.

This month the design team was asked to create summer-themed projects, so I used some cute mini butterfly brads, strawberry and cherry brads, and a big groovy flower quicklet on my pair of cards.

The adorable paper and diecut that I used are My Mind's Eye.  They were scraps that I had leftover from my June Creative Kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  I thought they coordinated really nicely with the Eyelet Outlet brads and quicklet. The sentiment stamp is from Our Craft Lounge.

I ran the kraft card front of my second card through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder and then adhered just a few small strips of the My Mind's Eye papers.  This sentiment stamp is from Verve.

Word on the street is that there are even more super cute Eyelet Outlet brads in the works to be released real soon.  Can't wait!

Momenta Cards

Hi everyone!  I created a pair of cards for the Momenta blog today.

While it's fun to create scrapbook pages documenting life's wonderful moments, cards celebrating milestones, and projects to decorate our homes, there are also occasions in life that call for reaching out to loved ones in times of difficulty and loss.

I have a couple of family members that are in need right now, and I thought the personal touch of handmade cards created with the elegant Story of Us 5x7 cardstock pad (which happens to be my absolute favorite Momenta product!) would be in order.

I LOVE this cardstock pad.  The colors and patterns are timeless and can be used for a wide variety of projects.  I chose 6 solids and patterns from the pad and layered 4 of them onto kraft cardstock from my stash to create my background.  I used the other 2 patterns to stamp flowers onto which I cut out and used as embellishments.

I adhered the stamped sentiment focal point as well as the stamped flowers with foam tape for dimension.  I decorated the flowers with my white pearl pen and stardust Stickles.  I finished the card front off with a pretty bow.

As you can see, my second card is the same design as the first.  So as to not feel like I was sending the same exact card out, I made a few subtle changes: I selected 4 different solids and patterns from the cardstock pad for my background, I stamped a different sentiment, I switched the color that was used for the large flower to the small flower and vice versa, and I tied a different ribbon.  This card is different enough to be different but the same enough to not have reinvented the wheel... gotta be efficient in this busy life!

Supplies:
kraft and white cardstock (Bazzill)
sentiment stamps (Hero Arts)
flower stamps (Verve Stamps)
ink (Memento)
dies (Spellbinders, Verve Stamps)
ribbon (ribbonFX)
pearl pen (Viva Decor)
glitter glue (Ranger)

Momenta + Basically Bare *Giveaway*

This week Momenta and Basically Bare are having a fun product swap filled with inspiration from both design teams and of course topped off with prizes.

I created a pair of cards for this fun event...

I used Momenta's beautiful cardstock and sentiment stickers along with Basically Bare's wonderful chipboard, corrugated board, canvas, and felt embellishments.  I used the same general design for both cards.

For my thank you card, I used the beautiful Chloe's Garden paper collection, puffy message stickers, and Bare Basics Hearts #1 and #2.

I left the white felt heart unaltered but I colored the canvas heart with pink mist and embossed the chipboard heart with an embossing folder.  I'm really pleased with the variety of textures I ended up with.

This friendship card was designed with the beautiful Butterfly Garden paper collection, a mini vellum quote sticker, Bare Basics Hearts #1 and #2, and Bare Basics Celestial Shapes

I used the canvas and chipboard hearts as-is, but I covered the corrugated heart and the chipboard stars with paper.  I love the variety.

Don't forget to leave a comment on the Momenta blog for a chance to win products from Basically Bare!

Also stop by the Basically Bare blog to enter to win the Momenta prize, too!

My Creative Scrapbook June Creative Kit

Hi everyone :)  Hope you've had a chance to see the My Creative Scrapbook June Main Kit layouts that I posted here yesterday.

Today I'm back with my June Creative Kit projects... featuring the On the Sunny Side collection from My Mind's Eye.

Although I really dislike photos of myself, I decided that for Allison's sake there should be at least some photos of me in her scrapbooks.  Dan took this one of us when we were visiting the Denver Zoo in April.  Allison really enjoyed looking at the animals.

There's a pack of beautiful American Crafts flowers included in the kit.  Here's one centered with a MME brad on top of a little pinwheel.  I added two more of the pinwheels around the flower and centered them with more MME decorative brads.  They're so cute!  The white foliage under the yellow flower is some of the kit's raw chipboard that I cut apart and painted.

Here are more of the super cute embellishments in the kit.  There's lots of cute ribbon included, too.

I call Allison "Sweet Pea" fairly often.  Something really cute is that she's starting to say "Hi, Sweet Pea" to others lately.  I adore her profile so I love this photo.

There are so many super cute papers and embellishments in this kit.  Here I've clustered some chipboard shapes, layered stickers, and ribbon beneath some Thickers and decorative brads.  Those little hearts on the butterflies were raw chipboard that I simply inked up using a brown ink pad.

I've used two of the kit's American Crafts flowers here, and on the brown one, I swapped out the pearl brad for one of the MME decorative brads.  The brown swirls and mini heart here were raw chipboard that I inked with a brown ink pad.

Allison LOVES being in the water whether it's a swimming pool, bath tub, or shower.  Here she's in the inflatable pool, repeatedly dumping buckets of water onto her head and then laughing like crazy.

I made a simple flower using a scalloped circle punch with paper and a brad from the kit and clustered it with more of the kit's cute embellishments.

I seem to have a thing for bows huh.

Allison's proudly showing off her new swimming suit before jumping into the pool.

This layout is a bit of a stray from my usual design style but there were so many super cute chipboard pennants, scallops, and birds in the kit that I wanted to include and this is how it all came together.

Something that I often do to spruce up embellishments is to apply some dots of Stickles or a pearl pen in various places.

I couldn't bring myself to get rid of scraps.  Besides, we can always use more cards in our stash, right?

I still have several pieces of the kit left.  It's all so cute and I'm sure I'll be using more of it up soon.

So I've been mentioning a huge contest at My Creative Scrapbook, right?  I'll be back shortly with details!

My Creative Scrapbook June Main Kit

Hi everyone!  There's lots of fun going on today at My Creative Scrapbook... it's REVEAL DAY!

So now I can start sharing what I've been working on over the past few weeks.  Today I have my June Main Kit layouts... featuring Prima's gorgeous Sun Kiss collection and complimented with a few of the pretty papers from We R Memory Keepers' Anthologie collection.

In this photo, Allison was just sitting in the grass, happy to have her picture taken.  The wonderful brown scalloped background paper and the blue text paper are from We R's Anthologie.  The rest is Prima's Sun Kiss.

This gorgeous kit includes 2 full packages of beautiful Prima flowers and a large assortment of chipboard stickers.  I've clustered some of them here in the bottom corner of the layout along with the kit's cream sheer ribbon.

The Prima Sun Kiss ABC sticker sheet has tons and tons of letter stickers as well as some wonderful word and phrase stickers.

This photo of Allison and me just melts me.  Something extra special about it is that it was taken on Mother's Day.  It was such a happy moment for me.

I can't resist clustering the beautiful Prima flowers and chipboard elements.  There's some lovely cream lace in the kit too, which I've tied into a bow here.

Don't forget about packaging... I cut those 3 pennants out from one of the Prima flowers packages and adhered them to the top of my layout with foam tape.

Our Mother's Day photo :)  I'm so thrilled with how this turned out... and I will gladly admit that I wore the blue shirt to coordinate with Allison's yellow shirt to coordinate with this gorgeous Prima kit :)

More of the kit's Prima flowers and chipboard stickers, along with some of the Prima letter stickers adhered with foam tape.  I added some dots onto the white flowers with my white pearl pen for added interest.

There is lots of pretty ribbon in this kit.  Here I've tied some of the brown grossgrain ribbon into a bow around the stem of a Prima chipboard flower sticker.  I also added some dots of Stickles... Star Dust or Diamond or one similar.

Allison is so great lately about having her picture taken.  Sometimes she even asks for us to take her picture.  She almost always wants to immediately see it on the camera screen.  Too cute.

More beautiful Prima flowers, chipboard stickers, and word stickers in this cluster.  I added some Stickles and tied some floss to finish it off.

If you love this kit, you'll want to check back tomorrow *hint hint*... there are lots of exciting things happening at My Creative Scrapbook... including a huge Prima contest... I'll be back tomorrow to share more!

Creative Scrappers Sketch #211

Hi friends!  It's been a week since I've posted anything, but today I can start showing you what I've been up to :)

I was really excited to have been invited by Kristine Davidson to be a featured guest at Creative Scrappers this month.  I received Sketch #211 to design a layout with, and this is what I came up with.

I used Echo Park's beautiful This & That Graceful collection along with some lovely Zva and Prima flowers.

I can't seem to make anything without using at least one border punch and some foam tape... don't know what I'd do without those.

The sketch was wonderful to work with... so many possibilities!

Hopefully you'll have a chance to head over to the Creative Scrappers blog today to see the full reveal of the stunning layouts made by the Creative Scrappers design team.  Let me warn you... prepare to be amazed!

To have a chance to win a prize from their June sponsor, simply create a layout from any of sketches # 211-212-213-214 and upload it using the linking tool at the bottom of the Creative Scrappers reveals by July 1, 2012.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'll be back tomorrow with more.
