Here is one of the layouts that I created with the August Limited Edition kit:
I thought you might like to see this layout stepped out!
I learned most of the techniques that I used on this layout from the very talented Christin Grønnslett. I absolutely love her amazing backgrounds... they are filled with interest and beautiful contrast.
Okay so to create my background, I prepped a piece of white cardstock with clear gesso. Then I misted a bit of water followed by some drops of Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays. I used a waterbrush to spread the spray drops around a bit to create a little watercolor effect, drying each color with a heat tool before applying the next color. I used 3 different pinks and a teal color.
Next I used some distress inks with stencils- 3 stencils with a pink distress ink (chevron, triangles, stars), 1 stencil with green distress ink (hearts) and 1 stencil with black distress ink (mini triangles).
For the next layer, I used modeling paste with the Prima basket weave stencil that comes in this month's Limited Edition kit. I dried that with a heat tool and then used a mini Prima script stamp with black ink to randomly stamp around the page.
I finished the background with some splatters of pink and teal mist.
Next I layered a few pieces of the beautiful Webster's Pages Strawberry Fields papers.
I cut a doily (from my stash) in half and tucked the pieces in, then I adhered the photo to a piece of raw chipboard (for height) and added it to the page.
I added a simple flower cluster and a bow.
I added some wood shapes and title stickers, and finished the layout with some brief journaling.
A simple but fun to make layout!
