Be You - My Creative Scrapbook

It's Friday, it's Friday, the BEST day of the week!  That's just a silly little song that my little girl and I sing on Friday mornings :) Today I have my 4th layout made with the Hello Gorgeous collection by My Mind's Eye that's featured in the My Creative Scrapbook March Main kit.  This one is really simple.

I smooshed some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays from my stash onto the background to complement the pink, green, and blues in the kit supplies.  I really like how these colors look together and with the black and white photo.

I used some of the chipboard stickers and this adorable polkadot fabric brad to embellish the page.  I added some pink tangled thread, inspired by Missy Whidden (actually, just about all of my pages are inspired by her these days!  I want to scrap like her when I grow up!), under the brad to add some fun dimension.

I love the pretty floral alphabet stickers that come in the kit.  I stuck them down on one of the journal cards to create the title.  I felt like they blended into the background too much, so I outlined them with a fine tip black marker to make them stand out more.  Plus, I always like black contrast on my pages.

Sorry about the poorly exposed photo but I wanted to show how I simply staggered a few of the journal cards and then topped those off with a couple of the chipboard stickers at the top corner of the photo.

So that's it from me with the My Creative Scrapbook Main kit this month.  I still have lots of kit supplies left over to make some pretty cards!  Be sure to check out the Design Team gallery for tons of inspiration with the March kits.

Have a fabulous, creative weekend!

My #1 Girl - My Creative Scrapbook

I had so much fun creating with the Main kit this month from My Creative Scrapbook.  The My Mind's Eye Hello Gorgeous collection that's featured in the kit is so pretty!

Here's the third layout that I made with the kit:

The background on this is simply some pink Lindy's Stamp Gang spray smooshed onto the cardstock using the packaging technique followed by some splatters of Lindy's in red.

Here are all of the My Creative Scrapbook March kits.  Please check out MyCreativeScrapbook.com for more information!

Let's Take a Selfie - My Creative Scrapbook

Have you seen the Lindy's Stamp Gang March Color Challenge?

I was drawn to the blues and used the following Lindy's sprays:

I managed to make a page with both me and my man on it!  Quite a rare moment, although, we've been making an effort lately to get in front of the camera together more often.

The #takeaselfie chipboard sticker included in the My Creative Scrapbook March Main kit was so perfect for this page!

The kit has the prettiest fabric brads in it!  I layered the above brad onto some gold thread, inspired by Missy Whidden.

Here are the My Creative Scrapbook kits for March:

The pictures do not do the kits justice.  They are so pretty, colorful, and just happy-feeling!  Perfect for spring.  Please visit MyCreativeScrapbook.com for information about purchasing kits.

You Got This - My Creative Scrapbook

The My Creative Scrapbook March Main kit features the Hello Gorgeous collection from My Mind's Eye!
Here's one of the layouts that I made with the kit:

I created the background on white cardstock with a variety of pink and green sprays from Lindy's Stamp Gang that I have in my stash.

After stamping here and there in black with one of my Prima butterfly stamps, I pulled mostly pinks and greens from the kit and built up the layers.  I used a handful of the Hello Gorgeous papers, journal cards, chipboard stickers and stitched brads to create the layers.  That sparkly heart is from the journal cards pack.

I love how Missy Whidden uses thread with her embellishments. I'm becoming addicted to doing the same, especially with gold thread!

Believe - My Creative Scrapbook

Hey blog friends!  I'm so glad you stopped by today.  I'm up with my last layout of the year for My Creative Scrapbook kit club.  It's been another amazing year on the team!

It's pretty hard for me to believe how much time has gone by since I first started receiving Pam's kits to design with... it's been 4 years!  I still remember that first kit as part of the team like it was yesterday.  I was so excited (and nervous)!  My style has changed, changed again, and changed yet again since I started.  But what hasn't changed at all is the excitement that I feel each month when that fabulous box of My Creative Scrapbook kits arrives :)

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Pam has up her sleeve for 2016.  But for now, here's my last page made with the December Main kit:

I really love the pinks and golds in this kit.  I decided to add some pink and gold mists to the background to bring out those colors even more.  I also added some gold metallic thread here and there.

Don't forget to visit MyCreativeScrapbook.com to see all of the details about the kits.  While you're there, check out the design team gallery!

So Many Presents - My Creative Scrapbook

I'm back with my third layout for My Creative Scrapbook using the gorgeous December Main Kit.  The color combo is so pretty!  There's lots of trendy gold, too :)

The kit includes a few different sheets of foiled vellum... so pretty!  I added some of the polka dot sheet into my layers here.

I added some messy gold metallic thread under the flair piece here for extra interest.

These gold numbers are so pretty in person, but hard for me to photograph... anyway, I still love 'em :)  I'll be back tomorrow with one more layout.

Right Now - UmWowStudio

Hello friends!  Today I have a fresh bold layout of my little girl featuring chipboard, flair, and a stencil from the UmWowStudio store!

I used the Checker Board stencil in a couple of ways on my background!

(I had bad lighting while creating my layout, so I apologize for the poor in-progress photos.)

After spreading a layer of clear gesso over a piece of white cardstock and allowing it to dry, I used the Checker Board stencil with a pencil to add some diamond shapes to the cardstock.

I then applied lots of color using sprays/mists, and when dry, I used the Checker Board stencil again, but this time with super heavy gesso, to add some white contrast and texture.

While my layout background was drying, I treated a Distressed Harlequin Background piece and some Diamond Confetti with black acrylic paint.

While the chipboard pieces were drying, I went back to my layout and randomly stamped a triangle stamp around the page with black ink.

UmWowStudio products used:
Checker Board stencil
Diamond Confetti
Distressed Harlequin Background
Oh the Places You'll Go Flair

other products:
patterned paper, stickers: My Mind's Eye
stamp: Viva Las Vegastamps
sprays: Dylusions, Heidi Swapp, Lindy's Stamp Gang
misc: washi tape, sequins

Celebrate - My Creative Scrapbook

It's reveal time at My Creative Scrapbook kit club!

I worked with the September Main kit, which features the brand new, beautiful My Story collection by My Mind's Eye.  The kit also includes pretty Marion Smith flowers, American Crafts decorative brads, and beautiful trim.

Here's my second layout created with the kit:

I can't help but to love this picture of my daughter posing all sassy at her competitive dance team auditions LOL!

I used some mixed media products from my stash to create the background:  several Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays, Heidi Swapp color shine, and a Viva Las Vegastamps circle background stamp.

Here's the beautiful September Main kit:
