For my project today I started with one of the awesome bright white Vintage Embossed Cards and embellished it with some beautiful goodies from the Reminisce line.

I just love these soft, gorgeous colors together and against the crisp, bright white embossed card. I used several foam squares behind the stickers and diecuts to build some nice dimension, and I made sure to thread the chipboard buttons, finishing one of them off with a double bow.

A little bit of detailing with distress ink, glitter glue, and a pearl pen goes a long way for adding interest. 

Ruby Rock-It and Fiskars are cross-promoting this month, so I've used the Fiskars "Hearts" border punch on a strip of the patterned paper to add a delicate layer behind the tag diecuts. Thank you, Fiskars!

Thank You Cards: Ruby Rock-It & Fiskars

Hello, I'm up on the Ruby Rock-It blog today with a pair of cards.  These feature some fun Fiskars punches that I received as part of this month's cross promotion.

The Ruby Rock-It products that I used for this card include some of the beautiful J'adore patterned cardstock from the Bella! Wedding range, a flower created from the Reminisce Quilling kit, embossed layered flowers punched from a sheet of Fundamentals plain vellum, Bella! rhinestones, and an organza brad.

I used Fiskars' Hearts Border punch with some white cardstock to create a decorative-edged anchor for the stamped sentiment.

The Fiskars Sea Pearls 3-in-1 Corner Punch added lovely rounded corners to the card front.

My second card front was made with a scrap of Bella! Wedding J'adore patterned cardstock along with some solid cardstock for contrast.

The sweet little pinwheel was made with the Fiskars Jenni Bowlin Pinwheel Squeeze Punch. The pretty little pearl in the center of it is from a package of Bella! Bling Borderlines.

May Sneak Peeks: My Creative Scrapbook

It's the beginning of a new month and that means it's sneak peek time at My Creative Scrapbook kit club! This is always such an exciting time for me as I am finally able to start sharing what I've been working on over the past few weeks.

I worked with the Main, Creative, and Album kits this month... whew! The full reveal of the kits begins on the 5th, but for now I have a few sneak peeks of my work:

Pennant Edged Flower Tutorial: Ruby Rock-It

Hi everyone, I have a simple flower tutorial to share with you today using Ruby Rock-It goodies.

The flower that we're making is a beautiful focal point on a card, but it would also be a lovely embellishment on a scrapbook page or other project.

Cut 40 pieces of 1 inch by 1/4-inch Cherry Rock Sugar Candy Glitter cardstock. These will be the flower "petals".

Punch one 1-inch circle and one 2-inch circle from a scrap piece of cardstock.

Adhere the 1-inch circle to the center of the 2-inch circle.

Cut a notch into one end of all 40 petals.

Apply adhesive around the outside portion of the 2-inch circle. Liquid adhesive is preferred as it allows a bit of time to position the petals before it completely dries.

Using the edge of the 1-inch circle as a guide, adhere 25 petals to the circle in a slightly overlapping fashion to form the first layer.

Form the second layer by adhering the remaining 15 petals onto the first layer. Be sure to overlap the petals slightly so that the white cardstock circles beneath them do not show through.

Punch a 1-inch scalloped circle from the Cherry Rock Sugar Candy Glitter cardstock.

Adhere scalloped circle to center of flower.

Punch a starburst shape from white cardstock.

Layer white starburst onto flower center.

Adhere a white w/ gold rim Wedding pearl onto flower center.

(Substitute a flat embellishment for the pearl to keep the card "mail friendly".)

 

Trace or freehand draw two leaves- I traced around a catseye inkpad!

Cut out the leaves and adhere to the back of flower, slightly overlapping one another.

The flower is ready!

Cut out the "Thinking of You" sentiment from the Kinda Krafty Chatterbox cardstock to use as the card front sentiment.

Adhere the flower and sentiment to the card front using foam squares for dimension. Now send the card off to a loved one!

Ruby Rock-It Kinda Krafty Cards

Ruby Rock-It has an awesome collection out called "Kinda Krafty", which is a must-have for my kraft-lovin' self! Here are some cards that I made with it this week.

Something about the lovely kraft paired with the bright white cardstock inspired me to stay clean and simple with this set of cards.

I like to create my cards in sets of three. Sticking to the same general design with a few adjustments here and there is an efficient way to get multiple cards made in the same sitting. Why not go for three next time you sit down to make a card? Your card stash will be grateful :)
