Hi friends! Happy Friday :)
I'm on the My Little Shoebox blog today with these layouts and cards featuring the beautiful Aiko collection. These are my final projects as a member of the design team, as my term has come to an end. Thank you so very much for an amazing year. I will forever cherish this experience and the lasting friendships that I have gained along the way. I wish the very best to Helen and her new team.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful weekend :)

A Special Visit - MLS Mini Album
Hello!
Allison's granny recently came for a visit from out of town. I wanted to have a mini album already made and ready to fill with photos and journaling so that I could send it home with her as a sweet souvenir. The album needed to be fairly simple and not bulky so that it could fit into her carry-on bag and hopefully not get too smashed. This is what I came up with using raw chipboard sheets and some really pretty My Little Shoebox goodies.
All of the patterned paper, cardstock stickers, letter stickers, and flower diecuts are from My Little Shoebox's new Lovely Day collection. It's such a wonderful line for Spring. The self-adhesive pearls that I used as flower centers are from Kaisercraft.
I'm really glad I made this album ahead of time... it took away the pressure of hurrying to create one after the fact.

My Little Shoebox DT Call!!!
My Little Shoebox is looking for talented, motivated, responsible designers who have time to commit to design layouts and projects each month with our products and promote our products online and at their local stores. We haven't set a specific number of designers for our team. We welcome international submissions.
We are looking for:
1. Enthusiastic, creative people that love My Little Shoebox and are able to do monthly assignments such as layouts, projects, and cards with our products.
2. You must post your work on 2 different galleries plus the MLS galleries.
3. You must be able to commit to a 12 months term, which will be from April 1, 2012 through March 31, 2013.
4. You must be at least 18 years of age.
5. You agree to release the rights of your designs to My Little Shoebox for display on the company website, blog, and in company publications.
6. If needed, your designs may also be needed for display at trade shows.
7. In addition, as a design team member, you will be contributing twice per term to our company newsletter and be required quarterly to make a photo or video highlighting a technique for the blog.
8. People that can take great pictures of their work in natural light, with a few close-ups. Because we will be posting your work on our company blog, we want your work to shine. Dark photos, shadows and flash spots don’t show your work well.
9. International submissions welcome.
In return you will receive:
1. A quarterly package with plenty of MLS products to design with.
2. Your picture and bio on the My Little Shoebox website
3. Your own personal gallery on the My Little Shoebox website.

Snow Fun
Hi friends! This layout of my daughter's first experience with running around in the snow is up on the My Little Shoebox blog this week. I combined products from two collections, Playtime and Winter Wonderland, to create this.
I love that there are so many perfectly coordinating die cuts, roll-up flowers, and stickers with each MLS collection. They make the embellishing process so quick and easy! I usually like to dress mine up with Stickles and/or faux pearls but they would work just as well as-is.
If you are celebrating Valentine's Day today, I hope it's wonderful :) Allison and I delivered yummy sweet treats to her educators, her librarians, and my co-workers. She had a great time!

Published!
Hi blog friends!
I'm super excited to share my very first Northridge Publishing publication. It's so rewarding for me to see my mini album of Allison's first year featuring the Sew Cute collection from My Little Shoebox in the Winter 2011 edition of the Create: Mini Albums idea book!
I saw it in a bookstore when I was visiting my family (and civilization) over the holidays, but today I received my own copy in the mail. Perfect timing too, because I need to get going on another mini album assignment but seem to have misplaced my mini album-creating mojo.

Sweet
Hi blog friends. I have this sweet little cupcake adorned card on the Momenta blog today.
I used a handful of pretty pastel patterned cardstock, a border sticker, and a flair button from the Cuddle & Coo collection along with a dimensional cupcake sticker from the Let's Party line. The sentiment is a vellum sticker.
Hope you're having a great weekend. I received a very happy scrappy package in the mail yesterday to guest design with from My Creative Scrapbook containing some of the most gorgeous kits I've ever laid eyes on! I can't wait for you to see them!

More MLS Audrey
Today I have one more layout and a card that were shown on the My Little Shoebox blog last week. Both of these were created with the beautiful Audrey collection.
I also love to add Stickles and faux pearls (I use dimensional fabric paint for those) for some added interest.
Oh how I loooooove the colors and patterns in this collection!
I love the special touch of stitching. I need to make time to do that more often.

Can never have enough flowers, right?
The My Little Shoebox 3D roll-up flowers are so easy yet so pretty!
Here is that delightful bracket shape again.
I think from this point forward I will simply call it the "Karola" bracket...
as she is who I drew my inspiration from.
More fabby MLS 3D roll-up flowers, this time centered with Zva pearls.
Be sure to keep your eyes on the My Little Shoebox blog this week... CHA SNEAKS!!!

Always
Happy Saturday! Here's another My Little Shoebox "Audrey" layout that was shown on the MLS blog this week. This is another recently created favorite of mine :) I just love this collection!
I wrote a special message to Allison on a journaling tag and tucked it behind the photo. I hope she will enjoy reading it someday.

Let it Snow
Hi everyone! I have a few things up on the My Little Shoebox blog today using the gorgeous Audrey collection. Audrey is my favorite of the MLS Summer releases... the colors and patterns are sooooo pretty and are totally versatile... I was able to use them for summer and for winter layouts!
Here is my favorite Audrey layout. The photo on it just melts me... in fact it ended up as the main photo on our Christmas card this year.

Flowers!
Hi! Here's a project that I did for My Little Shoebox last month using the Playtime collection and my Cricut Expression. I think this pretty arrangement would brighten any room :)
Each flower has 3 layers of paper cut at 3.25 inches, 2.75 inches, and 1 inch that are centered with a button and embellished with dots of white fabric paint. I used my hot glue gun to adhere them to the dowel rods. I inserted the rods into a piece of floral foam that I had cut down in size to fit snugly into the flower pot. I covered the floral foam with "grass" which I made by running a couple sheets of the green paper through my paper shredder and then folding each shredded piece back and forth. Some green, brown, and white ribbons finished the arrangement off.

Cousins
Happy New Year! I had a really nice time over the past couple weeks visiting our families for the holidays. I hope you enjoyed the holidays as well.
Now that I'm home I will be spending some time catching up with posting on my neglected blog :) Here's a layout that I created last month for My Little Shoebox using the Playtime collection.
Now that I'm home I will be spending some time catching up with posting on my neglected blog :) Here's a layout that I created last month for My Little Shoebox using the Playtime collection.
I used several of the B-sides of this collection's patterned papers to create a soft, feminine layout of my daughter being held by my goddaughter. I added border punched white cardstock and I hand-stitched around the edge of the page with white floss to compliment the bright white highlights in the photo.
Tomorrow I'll have an altered project to share using the same collection.

My Little Shoebox Destination Cards
Hello blog friends! I know, it's my second post today... trying to play catch-up :)
I have a handful of cards to share that I created for My Little Shoebox with the Summer 2011 Destination collection.
Something that I totally love about My Little Shoebox products is how versatile they are. If I'm in the mood for bright, fun, playful designs I reach for the super cute "A" sides of the papers. But if I want to create something that is softer and more feminine in feel, the "B" sides of the papers fit the bill perfectly.
I hope you'll have a chance to visit the My Little Shoebox blog often this month. The team has some wonderful layouts, cards, and projects to share with you all month long!
