Let it Snow

Hi everyone! I have a few things up on the My Little Shoebox blog today using the gorgeous Audrey collection.  Audrey is my favorite of the MLS Summer releases... the colors and patterns are sooooo pretty and are totally versatile... I was able to use them for summer and for winter layouts!

Here is my favorite Audrey layout.  The photo on it just melts me... in fact it ended up as the main photo on our Christmas card this year.

I will share a summer-themed Audrey layout tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by!

Momenta Cards

Hi friends!  I have two cards on the Momenta blog today.  The first is a bracket-shaped thank you card using the pretty Butterfly Garden collection.

A machine isn't needed to make a shaped card if you are willing to trace and hand-cut.  If you come across a shape that you like (from a collection kit, from packaging, printed from the internet, etc.) hang on to it so that you can use it as a template.  That is what I did here.  I have a handful of templates that I like to trace around for cards and borders and such but I found this particular bracket shape from the incredibly talented Karola Witczak.  For this card I layered several different pieces of the Butterfly Garden patterned cardstock as well as some border-punched white cardstock before cutting them into the bracket shape.

Next is a birthday card using the fun Let's Party collection.

Square cards are another favorite of mine.  This one is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and based on a Mojo Monday sketch (see below).  I added some liquid pearls and some glitter glue to the super cute layered embellishments to help them stand out even more.  Momenta's vellum message stickers are perfect for card sentiments.

Sweet (and some fun news!)

Hello everyone! I'm back today still playing catch-up from while I was away for the holidays.  I recently created this layout for Momenta featuring the adorable One Fine Day collection.  These bright and cheerful colors are a sight for sore eyes in this gloomy winter weather!

The happy colors of One Fine Day did a wonderful job of capturing the happy feeling that I get when I look at this photo of my daughter snuggling with her cousins.

I wrote a message to my daughter on a tag which I tucked behind the photo.  Hopefully she will enjoy finding the message someday.

I'm also thrilled to share that I have been invited to continue on the Momenta design team for 2012!  I'm excited about what this new term will bring.  You can read the full announcement on the Momenta blog, here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Flowers!

Hi!  Here's a project that I did for My Little Shoebox last month using the Playtime collection and my Cricut Expression.  I think this pretty arrangement would brighten any room :)

Each flower has 3 layers of paper cut at 3.25 inches, 2.75 inches, and 1 inch that are centered with a button and embellished with dots of white fabric paint.  I used my hot glue gun to adhere them to the dowel rods.  I inserted the rods into a piece of floral foam that I had cut down in size to fit snugly into the flower pot.  I covered the floral foam with "grass" which I made by running a couple sheets of the green paper through my paper shredder and then folding each shredded piece back and forth.  Some green, brown, and white ribbons finished the arrangement off.

Cousins

Happy New Year!  I had a really nice time over the past couple weeks visiting our families for the holidays.  I hope you enjoyed the holidays as well.

Now that I'm home I will be spending some time catching up with posting on my neglected blog :)  Here's a layout that I created last month for My Little Shoebox using the Playtime collection.

I used several of the B-sides of this collection's patterned papers to create a soft, feminine layout of my daughter being held by my goddaughter.  I added border punched white cardstock and I hand-stitched around the edge of the page with white floss to compliment the bright white highlights in the photo.

Tomorrow I'll have an altered project to share using the same collection.
