At Last

I finally got this photo from our wedding day scrapped! "At Last" by Etta James was the song we chose for our first dance.

This is a round layout. That white behind it is just the table.

I hand-cut the big scalloped circle by first tracing a diecut scalloped circle onto the patterned paper that I wanted to use. Then I cut a big circle as well as several strips of coordinating paper. After trimming the strips to fit into the shape of the circle, I inked all of the edges with distress ink and then glued all of the papers down.

All of the flowers are accented with diamond Stickles although it's hard to see that in these pictures. I really like using crystal brads as flower centers. I added some crystal flourishes for some more bling.

This was for a sketch challenge hosted by Liz Qualman. Here is her sketch:

Scrappy Sunday!

I'm so happy that I had time to do some more scrapping today! I neglected my housework but hey priorities are priorities!! :D

So I finally got this honeymoon pic scrapped. Looking at the finished layout REALLY makes me wish we were back in beautiful Jamaica!!! Or, at the very least, NOT in the middle of the cold, ugly winter!

For this one I hand-cut the scallops and inked the edges of everything with distress ink. The flowers are accented with Stickles and attached to the page with crystal brads and buttons. Then I stitched around the edge of the blue paper to tie it all together.

I submitted this layout for a guest designer contest as well as for a sketch challenge. The sketch was designed by Liz Qualman:

Time to figure out what to cook for dinner. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone is enjoying Valentine's Day!

My Valentine is at work all day but when he gets home he will be making a delicious meal for us! It's NY Strip Steaks with brandied mushrooms and brandy sauce! YUMMY! He's also making his red potatoes roasted in olive oil and onion soup mix YUM! I can't wait!!!

I am truly blessed to have this wonderful man for my husband and best friend. Here's the layout I finished last night of one of my favorite pictures of him :)

I hand-cut the scallops, did lots of distressing and inking with two different colors of distress ink, covered chipboard hearts with paper from the layout, and accented throughout with coordinating Stickles. I had fun making this one!

I submitted this layout for a sketch challenge as well as for a guest designer contest. The sketch was designed by Julie Bonner:

Well I'm off to do another sketch challenge! Thanks for stopping by :)

A Layout and a Card

I had intended on doing several of the sketch challenges that are going on this weekend over at Scrap My Memories but I was only able to finish one of them. I just haven't been feeling too well lately which is affecting my creative energy.

Anyway here is the one that I finished

I was thinking about entering this for the guest designer call which requires a layout about the one I love, but I'm not sure yet if I will enter it!

The challenge was to do a layout based on this sketch

As I was cleaning up my table I thought, "hey why not use the leftover scraps for a quick card?!" Besides I was in the mood to make another one of those super cute lollipop flowers. So instead of putting all the leftovers away, I used some up on this card. I am hoping to stay in the habit of that.

Hope your weekend was great!

Moose!

Well after a week of not feeling very creative, I sat down at my table today and made a layout that I'm happy with!

I am so excited about this one because Dan and I had been hoping to see a moose ever since we moved to Wyoming 2 years ago. We finally found one during our trip to Yellowstone over the summer! We had such a fun time together.
