A Few Cards

Hello! Just quickly popping in with a few cards...

It has been busy, busy here with all of life's happenings and preparing for the July kits reveal at My Creative Scrapbook.  I can't share those projects yet, but it won't be much longer... sneaks will be up on July 1st both here on my blog and on the My Creative Scrapbook blog.

In the meantime here are some cards:

This card was made with the gorgeous Isabella collection from BoBunny along with a pretty Prima flower. These colors will always be a favorite for me!

Another BoBunny collection here- the bright and cheerful Alora. The sentiment stamp is from Verve.

Lots of American Crafts goodies on this one: Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic papers, stickers, and burlap bow along with a Flower Shoppe layered flower and a clothespin.

I will be back on the 1st with some sneaks!

More My Creative Scrapbook June Creative Kit: Echo Park

I'm back with my second layout using the June Creative kit from My Creative Scrapbook kit club. Featuring Echo Park's A Perfect Summer collection, this kit is, well, perfect for summer!

I managed to snap these photos of Allison splashing around in a kiddie pool before she realized the water was freezing as it had just come out of the hose and hadn't had time to be heated up by the sun... once that realization occurred, there were no more (happy) photo opportunities!

See those super cute little fish embellies?!

Here's the Creative kit:

If you've not yet had a chance to visit the My Creative Scrapbook design team gallery, I highly recommend it especially when in need of some inspiration. There is so much incredible eye candy to view there, so you will no doubt find something (or several things) to get your creativity flowing!

When you're ready to subscribe, you can find all the info on the My Creative Scrapbook website, here.

Ruby Rock-It: Daddy-Daughter Layout

Hi everyone, I'm up on the Ruby Rock-It blog with a layout today. I combined bits and pieces of the fun Carnival King collection with the pretty Cook collection for this.

My daughter was so excited to visit the m&m factory here in Las Vegas. She was in awe (as were the rest of us) about the huge assortment of candy in every imaginable color.

I tucked bits and pieces under and on top of the photo using foam squares here and there for dimension.

Tip: When adhering your photos, apply the adhesive only in the center, leaving the outer edges of the photos' backsides adhesive-free. This allows room for tucking in your bits and pieces.

I used Clearsnap's Smooch Glitz to add sparkle to the diecut flower and the "candy" ticket for some lovely sparkle and interest.

Supplies:

...As I wrap up this post, my position as a design team member for Ruby Rock-It comes to an end. I would like to express my most sincere appreciation to Ruby Rock-It, to my teammates, and especially to design team coordinator Erin Yamabe. This has been such a positive, friendly, and supportive team to participate on, all due to the outstanding example that Erin leads. Thank you for having faith in me and for this wonderful experience!
All the very best always, Kris

My Creative Scrapbook June Creative Kit: Echo Park

The June Creative kit at My Creative Scrapbook is adorable, happy, and full of summer goodness! Featuring the A Perfect Summer collection from Echo Park, the kit is suited for lots of fun projects.

Here is one of the layouts that I created with the kit:

The flowers in the kit were originally a bright yellow color- very pretty but not the colors that I wanted them to be for this layout. So I used gesso, acrylic paint, and mist to change the colors to pinks and white.

I used the same acrylic paint to color the raw chipboard "Summer" piece pink.

Here's a photo of the Creative kit:

I need to tell you, I have the upcoming July Creative kit spread out all over my craft table, and it's really lovely! I can't wait for you to see it.

You can view all of the information about subscribing to the kits on the My Creative Scrapbook website, here.

I will be back next week with more :)

More Crate Paper DIY Shop: My Creative Scrapbook June Limited Edition Kit

Hello and thanks so much for visiting my blog today! I have one more My Creative Scrapbook June Limited Edition kit layout to share, featuring the DIY Shop collection from Crate Paper.

This kit is just gorgeous and so perfectly coordinated... a total joy to work with as it practically scrapped itself. I made 3 layouts and still have plenty of pieces left to use for some cards.

I adore this photo of Allison. I know it's hard to see, but I snapped this photo right after she had plucked a dandelion out of the ground. She was just standing there admiring it.

Here is the kit. If you've been thinking about subscribing, I highly recommend heading over to the My Creative Scrapbook website, here, to find the information about each of the kits. While you're there, take a few moments to browse the fabulous design team gallery for some really amazing inspiration.

More American Crafts Mayberry: My Creative Scrapbook June Main Kit

Today I have another My Creative Scrapbook June Main kit layout to share featuring the super pretty, summer-filled American Crafts Mayberry collection.

I wanted the pretty scalloped circle background paper to really stand out, so I kept all of my paper layering inside of it and underneath the photo.

I added a bit of masking above and below for some subtle texture and interest. Sigh, I have quickly become quite a fan of this technique... I wonder if my husband will notice new mask purchases here and there :)

Just for fun I dabbed this golden yellow flower with some Gesso.

Here's a photo of the June Main kit:

As you can see this beautiful kit contains several patterned papers, an accent and phrase sticker sheet, a 52-piece chipboard set, a 24-piece die cut shapes pack, Flower Shoppe flowers, a set of Dear lizzy ribbons plus sheer white ribbon, and Thickers!

For information on purchasing any of My Creative Scrapbook's monthly kits, please visit the website, here. Now would be a really great time to sign up- brand new CHA products will be coming soon!

If you decide to purchase a kit, it would be really awesome if you would let Pam know that I sent you :)

Candy Jar, Gift Bag, & Pillow Box

Well it was 107 degrees yesterday, so leaving the house was definitely not on my to-do list.

Instead I sat down with my American Crafts Mayberry leftovers from the My Creative Scrapbook June Main kit, some kraft cardstock, and a few extra goodies and got to work creating some gift items.

So first I have this candy jar filled with sweet treats.
I think this would be a fun teacher gift!

Next is an altered gift bag.

I made a pillow box, too.

So now I have 3 sweet teacher gift items prepared- I just need to decide if they should be gifted individually or as a set... what do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Daddy-Daughter Layout: Ruby Rock-It

One of the themes at Ruby Rock-It this month is Father's Day, so I was inspired to created this layout of my daughter in a sweet moment with her daddy. The design team is participating in a fun product swap with Clearsnap- I had some fun glittery products to add to my layout!

I layered several papers here from multiple collections: Cook, Mother Nature, and three of the Mini Themes, and even used some of the Cook collection recipe book dividers to cut flowers from. LOVE how easy the products are to mix and match!

Krisberc-dedicated-600px

My daughter has always very much loved being read to. She will happily listen to several stories every night. I loved being able to capture this moment of her daddy reading to her (and to several of her stuffed toys).

Krisberc-dedicated-closeup1

I used my electronic cutting machine to cut the 3 bottom layers of this flower. I layered them in a staggered fashion and added a punched scalloped circle topped with one of the beautiful organza flower brads.

I touched the flower's edges with distress ink and then detailed the petals with some pretty pink Smooch Glitz.

Krisberc-dedicated-closeup2

The butterflies and hearts were fussy-cut and inked before receiving some detailing with beautiful fairy dust glitter (butterflies) or touches of the Smooch Glitz (hearts). I know it's not easy to see in the photos, but in person it sure looks pretty.

Krisberc-dedicated-closeup3

I thought the above "chitter chatter" cut-out and the sticker were perfect sentiments for this layout. I adhered them with foam squares for added dimension.

The fairy dust glitter and Smooch Glitz were so fun to use to add pretty, sparkly detail to my layout. A little bit goes a long way, so these products are going to last quite a long time!

You can find my supply list with links over on the Ruby Rock-It blog. Thanks for stopping by today!

There are so many pretty colors and patterns in this collection!

I used a bit of Gesso topped with Stickles to dress up the edges of the flower a bit.

Here's a photo of the June Main kit:

This beautiful kit contains several patterned papers, an accent and phrase sticker sheet, a 52-piece chipboard set, a 24-piece die cut shapes pack, Flower Shoppe flowers, a set of Dear lizzy ribbons plus sheer white ribbon, and of course, Thickers!

My Creative Scrapbook June Main Kit: American Crafts Mayberry

The Main kit at My Creative Scrapbook this month features the really lovely Mayberry collection from American Crafts.

I made three layouts with the kit and easily have enough to create another and some cards. Here's one of the layouts:

My friend Delaina has turned me on to using modeling paste and masks. It adds beautiful texture and interest with very little effort. Just a little mask work here and there goes a long way.

I touched the edges of the flower petals with some Gesso and then some Stickles to dress them up a bit.
