Scrapbook Daisies November Reveal!

I got to work with Scrapbook Daisies' Union Square kit this month, and let me say that this kit is just gorgeous!  The color combination, while a bit out of my comfort zone, is soooo beautiful and elegant!  I loved working with this kit and I'm really happy with how everything turned out.

It's a Beautiful Day: Love this photo of Allison and me.  I used my small retro flower punch on the red cardstock from the kit to make those 5 small flowers; I then doodled on them with a black sharpie and finished them off with a dab of white fabric paint in their centers.  The three white flowers and the green leaves are Primas from my stash.  Everything else is from the kit.

One Big Happy Family: Love this photo of Allison with my sister's daughters (my Goddaughters)!  This was the first time they met each other and it was wonderful.  I loved this piece of patterned paper from the kit; it is so elegantly decorated and needed no additional papers layered on top of it.  So I focused on the photo mat and the embellishments for the visual interest.  The green leaves and the red bling flower center are all Primas from my stash.  The 3 corrugated cardboard flowers were punched from a random cardboard box with my retro flowers punches!  The butterflies were punched with an MS punch using papers from the kit.  Those 3 cute transparent flowers as well as the clock shape were sent to me by my friend Tanya, and the 2 red buttons are from a previous kit.

Simply Perfect: What can I say... the title describes exactly how I feel about my daughter :)  The three white flowers and the green leaves are all Primas from my stash.  I blinged up the white flowers with red Stickles... love the visual interest that added!  Everything else is kit product.  Really love that sparkly red bow above the diecut title tag... reminds me of a pretty ornament.

Treasure These Moments: This was a spur of the moment candid shot of Allison and her daddy and I love it!  I used my small retro flower punch to make all those little flowers with papers from the kit; I doodled on some of them with a black sharpie and I finished them off with a dab of white fabric paint in their centers.  The butterflies were also punched with papers from the kit using MS punches.  I added 2 green Prima leaves and the white doily from my stash.  To create the scalloped edge around the shaped background paper, simply adhere a regular 12x12 piece of cardstock (included in the kit) to the back of the shaped background paper and cut around it using decorative-edged scissors.

Friends card: Here's a card that I made with some of the leftovers.  The chipboard element was a piece of raw chipboard that I received from my friend Seppa and inked with distress ink.  The adorable red felt flower embellishment also came from Seppa and I thought it was a perfect match for this kit.  The butterfly was punched with an MS punch using paper from the kit.  The inside of the card contains a Bo Bunny rub-on sentiment from my stash and a piece of kraft cardstock also from my stash.

Pumpkins!

Something about finally having a child of my own makes holidays and seasonal activities all the more meaningful for me.  I find myself looking greatly forward to so many activities that Dan, Allison, and I can do together as a family.  I have tons and tons of fond memories of family activities from my own childhood and I really hope to provide a similar experience for my daughter.

Here's a layout I made this week of a photo from our recent trip to the pumpkin patch.  We had a lot of fun together there!

I used this great sketch by Julie Bonner:

I have a few more photos from that day that I'll be scrapping and sharing soon.  Thanks for stopping by! :)
