Blue Fern Studios - Brilliant

Hi, blog friends!  It's time to start sharing my March layouts for Blue Fern Studios!  They recently released their brand new beautiful Spring Parade collection.  If you didn't have spring fever before, just wait until you get a look at the pretty pastel colors and gorgeous patterns in this collection.  They are perfect for all of your Spring and Easter projects.

Brilliant

I chose the back side of the Spring Parade Susie's Garden paper as the base of this layout.  I covered it with clear gesso so that I could apply mixed media products.  Then I added 3 shades of pink and purple spray.  It is important to let each color layer dry before adding the next color, otherwise the colors will blend together.  Next, I applied modeling paste through a stencil.  Then I used the Tattered Newsprint stamp to add detail and contrast.

I chose the Spring Parade May Vignettes paper and used both sides of it under my photo.

I used the Blooming Flourishes chipboard set under my photo.  I embossed it with the new Lavender Eggs Imagine Ink embossing powder.  Isn't it pretty?!

I used Imagine Ink 14 Karat embossing powder on the title piece from the Brilliant, Amazing, Dazzling chipboard set.  I also sprinkled some gold beads here and there to coordinate with the gold title piece.

I dabbed the embellishments with a bit of heavy gesso to soften up the look.

and yes, I'm proud of my little girl for her academic accomplishment :)

You are so beautful

I'm here today with a layout that was inspired by this month's challenges at Lindy's Stamp Gang and 7 Dots Studio!

The February color challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang is perfect for the month of love.  The challenge includes beautiful reds, pink, brown, and cream!

When I saw the Jan-Feb 2017 challenge at 7 Dots Studio, which is to create a monochromatic project, I was super inspired to pull out the 7DS Yuletide and Lost and Found collections, which coordinate fantastically with the color palette at Lindy's!

I was really excited to create this layout today.  It was fun pulling out various products from my stash to put this together. I hope you enjoy it :)

Blue Fern Studios - I Love You More

Hi friends!  I've saved my favorite Blue Fern Studios February design team layout for last.  I'm lovin' their brand new Chesterville paper collection, especially the paper that I used for this layout.  Something about the woodgrain look really appeals to me, and I love the color of this one.

I started by smudging some heavy gesso onto the paper with a palette knife.  Next, I added color with purple and gold sprays.  Then I added details using Blue Fern stamps with black ink.

While the background was drying, I embossed the Blue Fern chipboard pieces with Blue Fern gold embossing powder. I matted the photo on a couple layers of Chesterville collection paper and then embellished with plenty of gorgeous flowers, most by Blue Fern and a few by Prima Marketing.  I tucked in a gold puffy heart by Crate Paper... love those!

I finished off the layout by flicking some drops of white spray ink and by dabbing the embellishments with gesso.
