More Crate Paper Maggie Holmes: My Creative Scrapbook

I have another layout to share using the My Creative Scrapbook April Main kit which features the gorgeous Crate Paper Maggie Holmes signature collection.

This kit is jam-packed with beautiful papers and embellishments. I was able to layer several of them on this layout and still have lots left for more projects- love that!

My Creative Scrapbook April Main Kit: Crate Paper Maggie Holmes

* For the Ruby Rock-It blog hop, please scroll down or click HERE *

I'm really excited to share this month's main kit from My Creative Scrapbook- it features the gorgeous Crate Paper Maggie Holmes' signature collection, and there are also beautiful Prima flowers, fun woodgrain Thickers, and super cute bows from American Crafts.

Here's one of the layouts that I created with the kit:

I'm pretty sure this is one of my favorite layouts ever. All too often I find myself concerned with getting the perfect photo with a perfect background. But this is a "real" photo- one that was unplanned and that captures a real moment in time. I love that this memory of one of Allison's current favorite activities (having a picnic with her dolls on the floor in the middle of a sea of toys) has been captured and preserved.

I'll be back tomorrow with another layout made from this kit.

For my Kinda Krafty project today I created a simple wall decor item to hang in my scrap space. I'm such a huge fan of kraft, and I especially love it when complimented with black, white, and a pop of color.  The bluish-greenish color will coordinate wonderfully with the color scheme of my space!

I really love the patterns on these papers. In fact that's what inspired me to create a wall decor item for today's project- I wanted the papers on display instead of tucked away in an album! For that reason, I steered away from my layering tendency and kept it simple. This is a case in which I felt less was more.

A little bit of the awesome Bella bling here and there added the perfect amount of sophistication that I was looking for.

Butterflies, florals, and crowns- so fitting for a woman cave, dontcha think? :)

The "Bliss" letters were originally kraft color, but I wanted them to be white to stand out more. I simply applied a coat of gesso, and when that was dry, I dabbed on some modeling paste for texture.

While the Bella bling is self-adhesive, I reinforced their stickiness with Therm O Web's Zots just to be sure!

It's a new month and that means it's time for a new reveal at My Creative Scrapbook kit club. Ohhh the kits are really gorgeous! I had a wonderful time designing with them and have so much to share with you.

I'd like to begin with the April Album Kit, which features the beautifully sophisticated Teresa Collins Memories collection. I adore every collection that Teresa designs and Memories is no exception.

Here's the mini album that I created with the kit:

A Ruby Rock-It Arcadia Layout

Hello! I have an Easter layout to share featuring Ruby Rock-It's gorgeous Arcadia collection.

Krisberc-easter2012

I'm so happy to have finally gotten these Easter photos scrapped- they're from last year!  When I sat down to work on this, the Arcadia collection was jumping up and down just frantically waving at me to be used with my photos. The colors are really lovely and the pretty petal prints reminded me so much of Easter and Spring.

With just a bit of fussy cutting and Therm O Web's 3D foam squares, I had beautiful flower embellishments to cluster around the photos. The pretty Arcadia pearls were perfect for the flower centers.

I layered a similar but smaller grouping of fussy cut, foam squared flowers on the other side of the page for balance. The delicate Arcadia lace adds lovely texture.

We all know that quality adhesives are important if we want our artwork to stand the test of time. I used a variety of Therm O Web's wonderful adhesives to assemble my page- I especially used lots and lots of the awesome 3D foam squares!

My supply list can be found on the Ruby Rock-It blog, here.
