These Boots!

Isn't this photo of my niece, Isabella, cute?! It was taken by my sister, Stephanie, and as soon as she showed it to me I knew I had to scrap it!

This layout includes some techniques that I learned from the design team at My Creative Scrapbook; I finally figured out how to tie a somewhat decent bow thanks to a tutorial by Robbie, and the ribbon threaded through the scallops was inspired by Gabrielle.

I've been doing a lot of pages of my sister's girls lately. In case anyone is wondering, I decided that since I have ample scrapbooking product and some time on my hands (at least until our little one arrives!) that I'm going to scrap some photos of her girls and make them their own scrapbooks to give to them later in life.

This will hopefully help my sister who has a really tough work schedule and doesn't really have time to be sitting around scrapping. And it will help me because, well, I love to look at photos of my nieces and I love to scrap! :)

Kitty Love

Just a quick post to share a layout that I made today for the July Cosmo Cricket challenge at sb.com. If you haven't entered the challenge yet, there's still a few days left, so get to it! :)

These are earlier photos of my goddaughter, Amber, and one of our kitties, Sabre. I always loved these photos!

All of the paper is from CC's Everafter collection with the exception of one; the other paper (the light colored strip just beneath the photos) is from CC's Dutch Girl collection. I thought the 2 paper collections coordinated nicely here! All of the chipboard shapes and the rub-on are also CC. The photos and each of the papers are inked on the edges with black soot distress ink.

I used my retro flower punches to make some coordinating flowers from the CC paper, added some doodling around the edges of them, and adhered them to the layout with dimensional adhesive. I then finished them off with some sparkly Stickles in the flower centers.

I added the title by using some Thickers and then fancied up the big circle with some white fabric paint.

The design for this layout was inspired by Beggahuna's sketches.

It's Official!!!

We had our viability ultrasound yesterday with our reproductive endocrinologist and despite all of my worries, we got wonderful news! The IVF worked! The sac and fetus were easily identified and the heartbeat was right there blinking at us! We also got to hear it! What an amazing experience.

Dan and I are so very relieved and thrilled to have a healthy little one on the way!

Our RE said that everything looks great and is measuring right on target, so he has released us to a local obstetrician. Kind of bittersweet, really! We won't have to make that long trip back and forth to Salt Lake City anymore, but we really love that doc.

I get to meet my new OB for my first appointment two weeks from tomorrow. How exciting :)

Addicted to Border Punches!

I really love using border punches on my layouts and cards. I think they add such a pretty touch to the project!

Today I made this layout of my goddaughter, Amber, and I used 4 of my favorite border punches on it. They are so simple to use but they really fancy things up!

Cheese

Cheesy smiles, that is. My goddaughter Amber loves to be in front of the camera and seems to get a kick out of making silly faces. These photos are from a couple Summers ago during a visit.

Also... string cheese! I love it! It's one of my favorite snacks and I could easily eat some every day. I hope it's not on the "no-no" list; I'd better find out!

Well I'm tired again but the nausea continues to stay away today, yay (I think). I am however feeling rather bloated... wonder if that's normal. I also wonder if it's normal for first-time pregnant women to question every single thing they feel even down to the slightest little itch on the pinky toe?!

Birthday Cards

This design is a total lift of cards that I've seen recently on a few different blogs, but for the life of me I cannot recall where I had seen them! All I know is that when I saw them I LOVED them and wanted to make some myself.

By the way this was a great way to use up some scraps!

Oh, here's what the inside looks like...

I'll be sending these to my mom and mother-in-law as their birthdays are just around the corner.

P.S. Is it normal for pregnancy symptoms to come and go?? I had been experiencing some mild nausea for several days but yesterday and today I hardly feel anything at all (except tired). This worries me.

Back at it!

I took the past few days off from scrapping to spend some time with Dan. He actually had a few days off work in a row! We went to a wedding yesterday but other than that we pretty much just took it easy.

Wow have I been tired! I'm sleeping like 9 hours at night and then also taking a nap during the day! Our first ultrasound is a week from tomorrow and I just cannot wait! I am so looking forward to getting some much needed reassurance that everything is okay.

Anyhow today I was back at it and I put this together for a challenge at Scrapbook Doodle to create a layout using mostly Rusty Pickle product with the theme of "it happened last summer".

This little doll is my niece, Jillian, and seriously, could she possibly be any cuter???

My sister-in-law Cristie took this photo of Jillian and it seriously melts Dan's and my heart every time we look at it.

My favorite embellishment on this layout is that cute lollipop flower that I made with the coordinating paper. To fancy it up a bit, I painted the distressed edges of the flower with white paint and then added a bit of Diamond Stickles. The stem is simply part of a black Prima crystal flourish. I also "Stickled" the distressed edges of the leaves with both Diamond and Black Diamond Stickles.

I'll tell ya, if my child is even half as cute as any of my nieces/nephews we will be very lucky parents :)

Another Day of Vacation, Another Layout

Oh how I love summer vacation! :) :) :)

Here's a layout that I did today. The photo was taken by my Mom last summer and the little beauty in it is my goddaughter Amber.

The paper is from the Minestrone collection by Jillibean Soup. Wow I love everything they make! (sketch by Beggahuna)

Christmas in July

Well with all of the excitement around here it sure feels like Christmas! Actually, better than Christmas!

Today I finally scrapped this photo from Christmas '06. That was a very fun and memorable Christmas at my mom's house. Santa paid a visit and had gifts for everyone, even the adults!

Dan always being the funny guy said, "I hope Santa has insurance!" when he called our names to come up and sit on his lap. We laughed so hard!

BFP!!!

Now that I've had blood tests on Monday, Wednesday, and today to verify things, I think I can shout this out now!

BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(In TTC (trying to conceive) lingo, BFP means Big Fat Positive)

After everything we have been through to get this far we just couldn't be happier. Thanks to IVF, we're pregnant! We are just over the moon thrilled about this!

You know the drill, "you're not out of the woods just yet" and "stay cautiously optimistic at this point", as this is very very early in our pregnancy. (Did I just say "our pregnancy"??? OMG!!!)

Our next step is a viability ultrasound in about 2 weeks. If all goes well with that, our IVF clinic will release us to a local ob/gyn. Our estimated due date is March 5th!

Thanks for sharing in our excitement! I'm off to a celebratory lunch date with Dan!

Altered Lunch Box Tin

My goddaughter Amber is turning 6 next week! Lately she's really into dolling herself up especially by painting her fingernails with her mommy's and big sister's nail polish. So I thought it would be super fun to make her a cute little manicure kit of her own!

So I took some cute MME paper, a border punch, scallop punches, a butterfly punch, pearls, bling, and ribbon and put together this fun altered tin. All of the paper is sealed with modge podge for durability.

Here's what's inside!

I hope she loves her new manicure kit :)
