You're So Lovely - My Creative Scrapbook

Hello, blog friends!

Today I have my final share for My Creative Scrapbook kit club.

It's hard for me to believe, but after 5 years of having the privilege of designing with the beautiful My Creative Scrapbook kits, 4-1/2 years of hosting the My Creative Scrapbook blog, and 2-1/2 years of coordinating the My Creative Scrapbook design team in between, I have made the decision to pass the reins to others and to step aside.

I cherish the times that I had with My Creative Scrapbook, and I will be cheering Pam and her company on from the sidelines.  Thank you, Pam, for everything.

So, here is my last My Creative Scrapbook layout, made with the super gorgeous January Limited Edition kit featuring Kaisercraft's Ooh La La collection.

This is my little cutie on dance recital picture day.

I really loved this floral paper but I felt it was a bit too busy under the photo as-is.  So I smooshed a layer of gesso onto the area of the focal point.  I added some drywall tape for texture and then added some modeling paste through a Prima stencil.  I did just a bit of stamping with a Prima script stamp and then flicked some drops of color with Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays.

I love to use doilies in my paper layers.  It adds a nice feminine feel and softens up the straight edges of the paper.  I also like to tear the edges of some of the papers.  I tucked in some chipboard pieces, stickers, fussy-cut elements, and a Prima brad on the left side of the page.

The right side cluster consists of one of the beautiful Prima floral vines, an individual Prima flower, some fussy cut flowerr, stickers, and a Prima brad.  It's all dabbed ever so slightly with white gesso for a softening and blending effect.

Moments - My Creative Scrapbook

I'm back to share my third January layout for My Creative Scrapbook kit club using the gorgeous limited edition kit.

I love this whitewashed woodgrain paper!  I prepped it with a coat of clear gesso, then applied modeling paste through a Prima stencil, added some stamping with Prima stamps, and added some drops of color using Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays.

I clustered some Prima flowers, fussy-cut elements from the Kaisercraft papers, Kaisercraft stickers, and Prima brads on each side of the focal point.

Everything got a subtle touch of white gesso to soften up the look.

I Treasure You - My Creative Scrapbook

I'm here with my second January layout for My Creative Scrapbook kit club.  This is another layout made with the limited edition kit which features Kaisercraft's Ooh La La collection.

There are several gorgeous elements in this collection!  I fussy cut two clusters of flowers and that cute bird, and used them to embellish the page.

There are beautiful Prima metal pieces in the kit.  I used two of them on this page.

I think I splash some Heidi Swapp color shine in gold on just about every project lately!  I've also used some pink sprays from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

It's Not What We Have in Life That Matters - My Creative Scrapbook

It's January kit reveal time at My Creative Scrapbook kit club! I got to design with the gorgeous limited edition kit which features Kaisercraft's Ooh La La collection.  Here's my first layout:

This is a photo of my daughter and her wonderful dance teacher after their final performance of last season.

The colors, patterns, and phrases in this collection are just beautiful!

I clustered some gorgeous Prima flowers and leaves with some fussy cut flowers and leaves from the Kaisercraft paper and dabbed them all slightly with some gesso.

The background is prepped with gesso and then treated with modeling paste through the stencil from the kit, drops of Lindy's Stamp Gang and Heidi Swapp sprays, and stamping with a Viva Las Vegastamps stamp.

Today - Scrap Around the World

I was so inspired by this month's mood board at Scrap Around the World that I had to take a much needed break from all of the end of the school year paperwork chaos for work and make time to play along with the challenge.

It felt really good to participate!  If you are like me and don't have much time to join challenges, I highly recommend that you make time somehow and play along with this epic event at Scrap Around the World.  I bet you'll feel good, like I did, making a page for yourself and having fun doing so.  If that isn't enough, have you seen the massive assortment of prizes up for grabs?!  I'd say that Scrap Around the World certainly knows how to celebrate their birthday!

To create the background, I first covered the white cardstock with a coat of clear gesso.  I then used drops of various colors of mists... pinks, teals, black, and white... with drops of water to create a watercolor effect.  I really enjoy this fun process!

When dry, I used a script stamp with some black distress ink to randomly lightly stamp around the page.  Then I used the same distress ink here and there with a triangle stencil.  I layered some super heavy gesso through another stencil to add texture.

When all was dry, I pulled out the My Creative Scrapbook January Limited Edition kit, which features the Tropical Punch collection from Kaisercraft, and a few additional goodies from my stash (that doily was courtesy of our local breakfast restaurant... they use those on the plates that they serve pancake syrup on! Too pretty for syrup if you ask me, which is why it ended up coming home with me and landed on this page LOL).

Several things about the Scrap Around the World mood board inspired me... the pretty pinks and hints of blue and green, the beautiful basket of flowers and the fallen petals, the sprinkles on the martini glass, and the texture on the icecream cone.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Joy - My Creative Scrapbook December Limited Edition Kit

It's reveal time at My Creative Scrapbook, and I'm delighted to share the layouts that I created using the December Limited Edition Kit.

Here's my first layout:

One of my favorite pieces in this kit is the Teresa Collins chipboard "joy" sticker.  I popped it up with foam squares for added dimension.

More My Creative Scrapbook July Limited Edition Kit: Kaisercraft Storyteller

Hi blog friends! Today I'm sharing one more layout made with the My Creative Scrapbook July Limited Edition kit which features the Storyteller collection from Kaisercraft.

I LOVE the Prima flowers, crystals, and resin frames that are included in this kit.  I was so happy to find a Prima Finnabair doily stencil, too.

I treated this Prima resin heart frame with some spritzes of Lindy's Stamp Gang Medieval Gold spray and then touched it with some Prima chalk ink in pastel blue.

Here's a photo of the kit:
